The City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) identified the month of August, due to the festival, and the month of December as the most critical periods when the volume of garbage in the city significantly increases.
According to CLENRO Manager Bing Mabilen, based on their records, there is a massive surge in garbage during these months, especially in Divisoria, Boulevard, and Gaston Park where major activities are held.
Aside from the celebrations, the official clarified that the influx of commodity and vegetable supplies in the market is another factor driving up garbage loads.
Thus, this city fiesta, Mabilen challenged everyone to make responsible consumption a habit to keep our city orderly and joyful.
