Former Misamis Oriental Vice Governor Joey Pelaez questioned the reason behind the impeachment allegations against Vice President Sara Duterte because her satisfaction rating remains high in surveys.
Despite accusations of betrayal of public trust, Pelaez pointed out that Duterte’s good performance should be reflected in the surveys if those accusations were true.
Because of this, he expressed concern that other national problems are being neglected because the government’s attention, especially in the Senate, is focused on impeachment issues.
The former official stated that instead of attending to the people’s needs, debates are continuing which, to him, are just a waste of money and time.
