Youth organization Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan (SPARK), represented by Milo Basuel, strongly condemned attempts by major corporations to block the implementation of the ₱85 minimum wage increase in the National Capital Region.
Basuel noted that Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) issued by Regional Trial Courts in Pasig and Navotas prevented workers from receiving the initial ₱35 tranche of the wage adjustment during the recent pay period.
He characterized the legal challenges as a direct blow to minimum wage earners struggling against rising food and fuel prices.
SPARK criticized companies involved in the petitions—including R2 Builders, Redicon Trading, and APFFF—for withholding legislated wage increases from their workforce.
