Liberal Youth Northern Mindanao Chairman Andre Josol strongly criticized the postponement of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections and the extension of local terms, describing the move as unjustified and unconstitutional.
Josol argued that official claims regarding crime prevention serve as pretexts to protect incumbent positions at the expense of voter rights.
He added that delaying elections deprives citizens of their constitutional right to replace ineffective or corrupt local officials.
