Kabataan Partylist representative Cobbie Jan Canda rejected Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte’s statement that he was unaware of business entities connected to Vice President Sara Duterte securing municipal government contracts in Davao City.
Canda emphasized that claiming ignorance does not absolve public officials from legal accountability under anti-graft and procurement laws.
He argued that awarding city projects to enterprises tied to close family members misuses public funds, insisting that local chief executives remain strictly accountable for procurement integrity within their jurisdiction.
