Ray Talimio Jr., Co-Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee of RDC-X, emphasized that the long-overdue resumption of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into alleged anomalies in the flood control project is necessary.
Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano recently announced that hearings will restart on June 4, 2026.
Talimio argued that the previous inquiry was incomplete since former chair Senator Panfilo Lacson only produced a partial report.
To address this, the committee will begin issuing subpoenas on Monday to compel the attendance of individuals relevant to the investigation.
He further noted that Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s participation significantly influenced the outcome of the Senate majority elections.
Meanwhile, the unexpected abstention of Senator JV Ejercito reduced the minority’s votes to 12, instead of the required 14.
