The Northern Mindanao Chess team returned home victorious, bringing medals despite the tough competition they faced in the recent Palarong Pambansa.
According to Coach Engr. Christy Abesamis, the team encountered formidable challenges, particularly in the secondary girls category, where they competed against titled players and members of the national team.
Although they did not secure a gold medal, the camp expressed gratitude for the high level of skill and determination displayed by their athletes.
Coach Abesamis confirmed that Team Northern Mindanao Chess will continue their journey by competing in the upcoming National Tournament scheduled for June 3 to 7.
In closing, she reminded her athletes to keep learning and never lose hope, emphasizing that setbacks are part of the path to growth and success.
