Deputy Speaker and La Union Representative Paolo Ortega announced that the prosecution is fully prepared for the upcoming impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte this Monday.
Despite the significance of the proceedings, Ortega expressed strong belief that Duterte will not personally attend, citing her past absences in congressional investigations.
He added that the Vice President is likely to rely on her legal representatives or lawyers to handle her defense throughout the process.
While Duterte is not obligated to appear in court, Ortega emphasized that the Filipino people still expect answers to the pressing issues she faces.
Many hope that the trial will finally bring urgent clarity and resolution to the long-standing controversy gripping the nation.
