Volt Bohol, President of the August Twenty One Movement, views the recent arrests of several prominent government officials in the flood control scandal as merely a token gesture (pampalubag-loob).

The group challenges authorities to also investigate the name of former Speaker Martin Romualdez to prove that there is no “selective justice” in holding the guilty accountable.

Despite the previous arrests, Bohol pointed out that they continue their criticism because there are still many who should be imprisoned but have yet to be held accountable.

Because of this, he stated that the administration must fix the crisis of accountability in the country to eliminate public doubt regarding how they choose who to prosecute.
