The group Kabataan para sa Tribung Pilipino has called on President Bongbong Marcos to be the first to face trial in connection with the flood control project corruption scandal.

The statement was issued in response to Marcos’ “Mahiya naman kayo” remark during his fourth State of the Nation Address, which critics say is tied to the controversy.

Ryan Serquinia, the group’s national chairperson, stressed that the public has long believed Marcos to be the mastermind behind the scandal, making him the one who should be jailed first.

He recalled that Marcos had earlier denied involvement in infrastructure-related corruption, a claim that runs counter to accusations against him.
