Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company, Inc. (CEPALCO) will implement a slight power rate hike for electricity charges in July.
Based on the latest advisory from the private electric distribution utility, there will be an increase of ₱0.07 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in the residential rate for the July 2026 billing period, raising the overall rate from ₱11.89 to ₱11.96 per kWh.
The price adjustment stems from the increase in the transmission charge amounting to ₱0.07/kWh, ₱0.01/kWh in system loss, and government taxes or mandatory charges. On the other hand, there will be no change or increase in generation and distribution charges for the said month.
CEPALCO earlier clarified that they do not profit from these pass-through charges since they only collect and remit them to the concerned agencies and power suppliers as mandated by law.
Because of this, the company encourages all consumers to continue practicing careful and efficient use of electricity to avoid higher bills.
