Coco Naik, Chairperson of the PDP Laban Migrant Workers Committee, strongly criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address, pointing out the glaring absence of senators during the session.
Naik even quipped that while the script Marcos read was well-arranged, it had no real impact in addressing the pressing problems faced by Filipinos over the past year.
He stressed that the leadership appeared to have lost control of the proceedings, as evidenced by the nearly empty hall despite Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian’s repeated pounding of the gavel to keep the session moving.
Naik added that the lack of participation from officials now raises serious questions about the legality and credibility of the decisions made during the session.
