Drieza Lininding, Chairman of the Moro Consensus Group, voiced concern after Cotabato City temporarily resembled a “ghost town” due to business closures prompted by election-related tensions between rival political groups in the BARMM.
Lininding appealed to leaders of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) and the Bangsamoro Federalist Party to de-escalate tensions among their supporters.
While calling on the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe shooting incidents around polling centers, Lininding commended security forces in Lanao del Sur for maintaining active dialogue to preserve local peace.
