The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) confirmed that preparations for the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) remain fully operational despite proposals for postponement.
2nd District Election Officer Atty. Ramil Acol announced that the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) will proceed as scheduled from September 28 to October 5, 2026, as no enacted law has officially deferred the polls.
Acol added that official ballot printing in Manila is actively underway to ensure seamless execution.
