Lanao del Sur 1st District Representative Zia Alonto Adiong denounced the alleged illegal transfer and delegation of duties and funds from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to other personnel.
According to Adiong, based on the testimony of Ms. Gina Acosta, the transfer of ₱125 million to Colonel Dante Lachica was not her own decision but a direct instruction from the Vice President.
The lawmaker explained that as a lawyer, the Vice President should be aware of the law prohibiting the arbitrary transfer of mandate and authority from one office to another individual.
He added that any assignment of duties must adhere to the agency’s established policies and regulations to avoid violations of legal procedures.
Adiong further emphasized that such action reflects a disregard for existing laws governing the proper use of government funds. Because of this, the congressman expressed his strong stance on accountability and transparency in managing such a significant amount of public funds.
