The Citizens Watch for Good Governance has held Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa responsible for the chaos that erupted inside the Senate the other day.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Atty. Antonio Soriano, lead convenor of the group, said the commotion stemmed from the senator’s mistaken belief that he was about to be arrested.

Soriano clarified that no National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel were present to apprehend him, but the fear of arrest triggered his sudden reaction, prompting his supporters to follow suit and intensify the disorder.

He explained that confusion over security and the varied reactions of those inside the chamber further heightened the tension.

Soriano added that the lack of clear coordination among authorities worsened the situation, turning the Senate into a center of controversy rather than a venue for orderly proceedings.

For Soriano, it is essential that the investigation establish the facts to protect the integrity of the institution and prevent similar incidents in the future.
