Two legislators declared on the 121st commemoration of Philippine Independence, the yearning of today’s Filipinos to be free of modern-day shackles.
Filipinos have had enough of other countries exporting their wastes and garbage to the Philippines, according to Misamis Oriental 2nd District Rep. Juliette T. Uy.
“It is time we declare our independence from imported garbage,” Uy said in time for the commemoration of the Philippines’ Independence Day.
For his part, AKO BICOL Party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. expressed the aspiration of Filipinos to be free from the chains that diseases grapple upon their families.
“Mamamayang malaya mula sa tanikala ng karamdaman – yan ang hangarin nitong mga batas na inakda ng Kongreso ukol sa kalusugan,” the Bicolano solon stressed
