Former Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Atty. Oscar Moreno revealed that there are no longer legal barriers preventing the International Criminal Court (ICC) from pursuing its investigation against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Moreno explained that after the dismissal of Duterte’s appeal, the ICC is expected to move forward with formal trial proceedings within the year.
He stressed that stronger and more substantial evidence will be required in court to prove the allegations of crimes against humanity.
At the same time, Moreno underscored that Duterte retains the right to defend himself through his legal counsel.
For now, the public remains watchful of the unfolding legal process, which carries significant implications for the nation.
