CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Cagayan De Oro’s 1st District is bracing for an intense political showdown as Congressman Lordan Suan and Carmen Barangay Captain Kikang Uy prepare for a rematch in the 2025 elections.
Despite earlier speculations that Suan might pursue a national position to avoid a direct contest, Uy’s spokesperson, Janboy Actub, has confirmed that the One Kagay-an, Kuyog ang Katawhan Coalition has firmly decided that, once again, Kikang Uy will challenge Suan.
The rivalry between Suan and Uy runs deep, originating from their days as law students at a prominent university in the city.
With both candidates set to clash for the second time, the political atmosphere in the first district is expected to heat up significantly.
