Former diplomat and law professor Atty. Jojo Lacanilao expressed concern regarding allegations presented in the Senate Impeachment Court that ₱319 million from Chinese corporate sources was transferred to KALE 88, a business entity linked to the Duterte family.
Lacanilao warned that verified foreign financial flows into executive-linked enterprises pose national security risks and foreign influence concerns.
He noted that invoking plausible deniability or framing such transactions as routine export transactions fails to resolve discrepancies between official SALN disclosures and alleged bank account figures.
