President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. rejected being likened to a monkey, following an AI‑generated caricature aired by China Daily, a state‑run TV channel.

Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said no Filipino, including the President, should accept such degrading treatment.

She emphasized that every citizen has inherent dignity that must be respected.

While some may have resigned themselves to ridicule, Marcos will not allow the honor of his people to be demeaned.

The Palace stressed that this firm stance reflects the government’s unwavering defense of national dignity against any form of insult, and called for unity among Filipinos in asserting their worth before the world.
