Former PHIVIDEC Administrator Pompee La Viña heavily criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., describing him as acting like he was “on another planet” during his delivered State of the Nation Address (SONA).
He stated that the president forgot and completely failed to mention the true state of the country, where one out of every four Filipinos is currently facing involuntary hunger or genuine starvation.
La Viña also criticized the lack of clear plans and methods from the government on how to face and provide solutions to this food crisis.
He expressed disappointment toward members of Congress, including representatives from Cagayan de Oro, for simply clapping while the difficult plight of the people was ignored.
