Manny SD Lopez of the People’s Constitutional Reform Initiative (PCRI) called for urgent amendments to the Philippine Constitution to curb economic monopolies and dismantle what he described as “captured agencies” that hinder fair competition.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, Lopez explained that such reforms would restore genuine market competition and benefit the broader public.
He added that PCRI’s proposals also strengthen the judiciary and anti-corruption laws to ensure transparency across government institutions.
The group’s ultimate goal, Lopez stressed, is to institutionalize professionalism not only in the bureaucracy but also in the legislative and executive branches, thereby improving public service delivery for all Filipinos.
