Former City Mayor and lawmaker Atty. Constantino “Tinnex” Jaraula stressed that impeachment proceedings clearly carry political undertones.
In an interview with BOMBO RADYO, he emphasized that despite this political aspect, senator-judges must demonstrate and preserve impartiality in hearing the case.
During the hearing proper, Jaraula called on lawmakers not to let emotions or personal interests influence the process, as the law must prevail at all times.
He further explained that every allegation must be backed by strong evidence; otherwise, weak accusations will only strengthen the defense’s counterarguments, giving Vice President Sara Duterte a greater chance to withstand political pressure.
