Tingog Partylist Representative Jude A. Acidre has raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the Department of Education’s (DepEd) liquidation of confidential funds, citing the unauthorized use of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) documents.
In an exclusive interview with BOMBO RADYO, Acidre emphasized that military officials were effectively misled, as they were unaware that the certifications they issued were later diverted for purposes unrelated to their original intent. He noted that the practice reflects a troubling pattern, likening it to “a lie used merely to cover up another lie.”
The lawmaker stressed that such actions cast doubt on the authenticity of the liquidation papers submitted to the Office of the Secretary, leaving the public questioning the legitimacy of DepEd’s financial reporting. Acidre underscored the need for transparency and accountability, insisting that the full truth behind the use of public funds must be revealed.
