Former Bayan Muna Representative Atty. Kaloi Zarate called on senators to respect the institution by promptly addressing the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
He said that lawmakers must set aside personal political loyalties and favoritism so that constitutional law can take its proper course.
Zarate explained that the House of Representatives has already fulfilled its duty by establishing probable cause after a series of hearings.
He emphasized that this is now the right moment to hold the Vice President accountable, noting that this marks the second time she has faced impeachment.
For Bayan Muna, the Senate should move quickly to begin the trial in the impeachment court and not downplay the public’s sentiment.
