The Bureau of Customs (BOC), under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., has ordered all ports nationwide to intensify monitoring of oil importations and inventory levels.

This directive comes amid global supply concerns caused by the US-Israel-Iran conflict, which disrupted infrastructure and temporarily shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized the need for accurate tracking of oil flows to ensure preparedness against possible supply disruptions.

All district ports must submit regular reports on oil imports, consolidated during Weekly Collection Meetings.

A new BOC-OIL Task Force, in coordination with DOE and BIR, will oversee inspections of oil depots and storage facilities.

The initiative aims to ensure transparency, validate industry data, and support national economic stability during evolving global conditions.
