Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez has strongly questioned the credibility of Ramil Madriaga, the self-confessed bagman of Vice President Sara Duterte.
During deliberations at the House Committee on Justice, Rodriguez insisted that Madriaga should not be relied upon, branding him a “polluted source.”
Rodriguez earlier registered the lone objection in the committee’s 29-1 vote to subpoena Madriaga. He argued that the allegations tied to Vice President Duterte’s tenure as Education Secretary do not constitute an impeachable offense, and therefore should not be included in the impeachment proceedings.
The lawmaker emphasized that testimonies from questionable sources like Madriaga could undermine the integrity of the process, urging the committee to exercise caution in weighing such claims.
