President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with international oil suppliers to safeguard the Philippines’ energy security.
He also pointed at the vital role of local production, citing newly discovered natural gas reserves in the Malampaya area specifically the Malampaya East-1 and Camago-3 wells, which are believed to contain larger reserves than earlier sites.
These discoveries are expected to extend the lifespan of the Malampaya project and boost the country’s power supply.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing long-term strategies to strengthen and stabilize the nation’s energy resources.
