Thousands of students across Chile have staged demonstrations opposing the government’s new education reform under President José Antonio Kast.

Protesters argue that the policy could restrict access to free and affordable education, while also raising fears of reduced funding for the sector.

Student leaders voiced concerns that the reform may widen inequality, making it harder for low-income families to pursue higher education. They stressed that education should remain a right, not a privilege.

Although the protests have remained largely peaceful, demonstrators delivered strong calls for the government to address their grievances.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rallies spread nationwide, signaling growing public resistance to the proposed changes.
