Cagayan de Oro residents need not worry about food shortages, according to City Agriculturist Engr. Bernie Daba, who assured that the supply of agricultural products remains sufficient despite current production and market challenges faced by farmers and fisherfolk.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Daba explained that vegetables, fruits, and other produce continue to arrive steadily in the city due to the ongoing cropping season.
He acknowledged the impact of rising costs of fertilizer and fuel but emphasized that coordination with the local government ensures the market supply remains unaffected.
The City Agriculture Office has also prepared backup stocks of fertilizer and secured government support for farmers to sustain production and prevent shortages.
Continuous monitoring is being carried out to guarantee that the city maintains a strong and adequate supply of agricultural goods.
