The Catholic Church has emphasized the vital role of mothers in every community. Father Der John Faborada, Social Communication Officer of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, explained that mothers are given special recognition by the Church because they are called to reflect the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
The Church also acknowledges the sacrifices of mothers, especially working moms and Overseas Filipino Workers who strive abroad to support their families back home.
In addition, prayers were offered for solo parents who carry “dual” responsibilities within the family. Clergy recognize the heavy decisions they face and the challenges they encounter in maintaining good mental health.
This message beautifully ties faith with everyday struggles, showing how the Church seeks to uplift mothers in all walks of life.
