Atty. Ramil Acol, City Election Officer for the second district of Cagayan de Oro, clarified that the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSK) Elections will push through this November since no law or directive from the national government has been issued to postpone them.
He explained that all timelines and preparations of the Commission on Elections are already aligned with the scheduled polls.
Acol further noted that newly registered voters will remain valid in the voter list permanently, unless they transfer to another district.
He assured that significant resources and work have already been invested, leaving no reason for the elections to be canceled.
At present, he reported that the second district’s voter rolls are clean, with no irregularities detected such as deliberate transfers of registrants.
