The Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) clarified the reason behind the temporary water outage in parts of Barangay Bugo and nearby areas the other day.
According to Dr. Gerry Caño, COWD Board Chairman, the issue was caused by the breakdown of a water pump serving the area.
As a result, consumers in Bugo and Tagoloan experienced supply interruptions for two days while emergency repairs were carried out.
Caño confirmed that water service has since been restored after the pump was fixed and the production well reactivated to supply the barangay.
He also noted a separate incident in Balulang where a pipe leakage led to reduced water volume delivered to consumers.
The technical team continues repair and monitoring efforts to prevent recurring interruptions.
COWD assured residents that operations and prompt response to water concerns across the city will continue.
