Former Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Misamis Oriental–Cagayan de Oro Chapter president Atty. Eddie Cuaresma remarked that Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s world is closing in.

In an interview with BOMBO Radyo, Cuaresma said it would have been better if Dela Rosa had skipped the Senate session on May 11, as this allowed the International Criminal Court (ICC) to serve its warrant of arrest against him.

On that same day, the ICC confirmed the existence of a document authorizing his arrest, which was originally issued as a secret file in November 2025 but unsealed only on May 11, 2026.

Cuaresma explained that while Dela Rosa’s request for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) could be denied, his “main case” might still be granted.

This main case refers to his appeal before the Philippine Supreme Court seeking to block the ICC’s prosecution for crimes against humanity, where he is implicated as a co-perpetrator in the bloody war on drugs campaign led by former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained by the ICC.
