Mae Curiano of NGCP explained that consumers will hardly notice the decrease in transmission rates since it accounts for less than five percent of the total monthly electricity bill.
She clarified that this charge remains the basis for billing sent to electric cooperatives and distribution utilities. These utilities are responsible for billing consumers based on their individual consumption.
In reality, electricity bills consist of various components such as generation, distribution, and transmission charges.
Therefore, changes in transmission rates do not immediately have a significant impact on household bills.
