Former Barangay Cugman Kagawad Elmer Cotiamco, known as a Duterte Die Hard Supporter (DDS), has appealed to Cagayan de Oro’s congressmen to hold a public consultation before the plenary voting on the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Cotiamco stressed that leaders should listen to the genuine sentiments of their constituents regarding the issue.
Based on his personal observations and conversations with residents, he believes a large percentage of the people do not support the impeachment move.
He urged lawmakers to weigh their decision carefully, noting the sensitivity and significant impact of the process on national politics.
Cotiamco added that it would be better for officials to first determine the true stance of the public through consultation, expressing hope that the city’s representatives will not back the impeachment complaint in the upcoming plenary vote.
