The Federation of Free Workers (FFW) expressed disappointment over this year’s Labor Day observance, according to its president, Atty. Sonny Matula.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Matula lamented the absence of a formal dialogue between the President and labor leaders—a tradition observed by past administrations every May 1.
He stressed that such meetings are vital for the President to directly hear the realities and challenges faced by workers.
some informal conversations took place, Matula said these were insufficient without a structured meeting to discuss programs and solutions.
The FFW is calling on the administration to set a formal dialogue to ensure active participation and deeper understanding of labor concerns in government policymaking.
