Transport cooperatives in Cagayan de Oro have begun availing of the government’s service contracting program, according to LTFRB Region 10 Director Aljo Bendijo.

The program covers modern jeepneys and UV Express units with valid franchises and LTFRB registration.

Bendijo explained that the system sets fixed routes and trips, with government payments based on kilometers traveled and compliance with regulations.

To qualify, cooperatives must have a valid franchise, registered vehicles, a bank account, and GPS tracking.

He emphasized that passengers will benefit from fare discounts while ensuring a stronger and more organized transport system in the city.
