United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that Europe must take action instead of holding endless conferences to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz.
Hegseth stressed that the strait is more crucial to Europe than to the United States, as nearly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes through it. Speaking at a Pentagon briefing, he clarified that while the US does not depend on Europe, it is Europe that urgently needs stability in the strait.
He emphasized that European nations should actively join operations to prevent a larger energy crisis.
