Bonbon Drivers Association (BONODA) President Emmanuel Espinosa criticized the government’s 2017 Modernization Program and the flawed distribution of fuel and cash subsidies by LTFRB and DSWD.
He said drivers were confused by the dual aid system and accused LTFRB-10 of worsening the disorder.
Espinosa admitted that despite the ₱5,000 fuel subsidy allocation for traditional jeepney drivers, many still received nothing, including additional assistance from DSWD.
The group also rejected the “selective system” imposed by the agency and opposed the requirement to download e-wallet apps, preferring direct cash aid to cover fuel expenses.
