Lay theologian Wilson Amad criticized how transparency is being carried out by the Commission on Audit (COA) and the Anti‑Money Laundering Council (AMLC) in monitoring government funds.

He pointed out that at times, these agencies appear confined to mere recording or bookkeeping of transactions instead of actively detecting and preventing irregularities.

Amad emphasized that government transactions, even those involving confidentiality, should still be properly examined when public interest is at risk.

He further noted that transparency must go beyond formality and serve as an active safeguard for public funds.

Amad called for stronger and clearer systems to ensure government resources remain clean and subject to vigilant oversight by both the public and responsible agencies.
