Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste has urged the Office of the President to investigate reports of discrimination in the distribution of government aid.
Leviste revealed that a barangay captain informed the president of the Liga ng mga Barangay in Batangas that certain communities were excluded from receiving assistance because Governor Vilma Santos-Recto was allegedly “angry” at them.
The congressman said the issue has already been raised to Malacañang, assuring that barangays left out will still receive ₱200,000 each.
He also appealed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to enforce the aid program and review the process reportedly overseen by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
