Former Provincial Administrator Atty. Angel Lim was unsurprised by the House Committee on Justice’s declaration of probable cause in the two impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Lim noted that the committee, led by Rep. Gerville Luistro, clearly had its leanings, making yesterday’s result “expected.”
As the complaints move forward to the plenary, Lim urged lawmakers to remain “open-minded” and “impartial” in their deliberations.
He warned that public trust in the legislative process could erode if the proceedings are perceived as biased or predetermined.
