Misamis Oriental Special Assistant to the Governor, Celso “Popoy” Abucejo, clarified that investigations found no traces of the backhoe allegedly used in illegal mining activities in Barangay Sinalac, Initao.
Abucejo stressed that the provincial capitol strongly condemns illegal mining, and he questioned why stories surfaced suggesting that the provincial government particularly the governor allowed such activities.
He emphasized that the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental will never engage in actions that exploit power for personal gain, especially through illegal mining.
He further revealed that the claims circulating on social media and other sources are baseless attacks meant to discredit the government, which he said do not serve the welfare of the people.
