Members of the PDP-Laban party have called on voters to reject congressmen who signed the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte in Congress today.
Coco Naik, chairman of PDP-Laban’s Filipino Migrant Workers committee, stated that these lawmakers should be cast aside because they prioritized their personal interests over the welfare of the people. He added that citizens have long been aware of alleged excessive spending by some congressmen, yet these officials appear indifferent to the country’s true situation.
With only 106 votes in favor, the impeachment charges against Vice President Duterte will now move to the Senate for trial, based on four articles of impeachment.
