Joey Pelaez, National Convenor for Entrepreneurial Advocates and Education Sector under MASADA, called on government legislators to prioritize the country’s pressing economic challenges instead of focusing on impeachment proceedings and political maneuvering.

Pelaez stressed that impeachment should not be the priority at this time, pointing to urgent issues such as inflation, trade deficit, budget deficit, and unemployment all of which demand immediate action.

He argued that while the nation struggles, lawmakers must give precedence to solving problems that directly affect the lives of ordinary Filipinos rather than pursuing political interests.

According to Pelaez, the push for impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte reflects fear of her uncompromising stance against corruption and violations of the law.

He encouraged legislators to set aside personal interests and act in the best interest of the public
