Akbayan Party-list Representative Dadah Kiram Ismula expressed immense joy over the successful jetski flag ride at Pag-asa Island, part of the fourth civilian mission of the group Atin Ito to the West Philippine Sea at the end of April.
Ismula explained that through this activity, their group fulfilled the long-standing vision once mentioned by former President Rodrigo Duterte to visit the West Philippine Sea on a jetski.
She emphasized that the symbolic ride demonstrated a peaceful yet firm stand of Filipinos in defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial rights.
As a Mindanaoan and a woman, Ismula said leading the mission carried deep meaning, showcasing unity and courage among civilians.
She added that the jetski flag ride sent a clear message: the West Philippine Sea is part of Philippine territory, and Filipinos have the right to access it.
The Atin Ito movement continues its initiatives to strengthen public awareness and support for national sovereignty.
