Atty. Hillary Olga Reserva insisted that respondents in the impeachment complaints must be protected by knowing the scope and limits of the charges, after the House Committee on Justice declared them sufficient in form, substance, and grounds.

She criticized the committee led by Rep. Gerville Luistro for allegedly engaging in a “fishing expedition” by subpoenaing documents unrelated to the complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Reserva said her team of lawyers will closely monitor the committee’s next actions to determine what kind of fishing tactics may be employed.

She argued that the committee’s lack of preparation is evident in its failure to present solid evidence, which could weaken the case and undermine its credibility.
