Atty. Jojo Lacanilao, convenor of the Duterte Panagutin Campaign Network, criticized Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense of categorizing certain funds under “Others” in her Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).

He explained that the SALN form clearly provides a section for “cash on hand,” where officials typically declare money in banks or readily accessible accounts.

Lacanilao argued that as a long-time government official who files SALNs annually, it is implausible for Duterte to have consistently failed to declare properly in this section.

He added that such reasoning is unlikely to be accepted by those familiar with the declaration process.

For Lacanilao, this defense only heightens public suspicion and could become a central issue in the impeachment hearings.
